Worldwide, iHEAL is one of only a few interventions that is effective in improving both the health and safety of women who have experienced IPV – impacts that last after the program ends.

iHEAL was developed by a team of researchers from Western University, University of British Columbia and University of New Brunswick to address a gap in supports for women experiencing IPV. Our team has tested and refined this innovative program, and the approach used to educate, prepare and support nurses and organizations to offer iHEAL for more than 20 years.

The evidence behind iHEAL is strong and makes a compelling case for widespread adoption of this impactful program across Canada.
